Job Description

This description provides a general overview of the custodian duties and is not exhaustive of all responsibilities.

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Service, clean, or supply restrooms.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors with appropriate cleaners.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Report major repairs or building system issues to the principal.
• Follow safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
• Prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Move heavy furniture or equipment manually or with hand trucks.
• Set up or remove decorations, tables, chairs, etc., for events.
• Clean laboratory equipment using appropriate methods.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills: Ability to perform multiple tasks, use custodial supplies, and upgrade skills as needed.

Knowledge: Understanding of cleaning methods, custodial supplies, and basic math for following instructions.

Abilities: Ability to schedule activities, work with diverse individuals, operate equipment, and adapt to various circumstances.
