Position Summary
The Dental Hygienist is responsible for scaling (supra and subgingival), prophylaxis (polishing), periodontal charting and recording, local anesthesia (if certified), impressions, sealants, fluoride varnish, oral health promotion, x-rays, place fillings (if certified). The Dental Hygienist can work unsupervised if the Dental Hygienist has 3000 hours (or more) of practice and is listed on the College of Dental Hygienists extended practice roster.
Qualifications
Education
- Registered as a Dental Hygienist and in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Manitoba – Required
- Member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association or Manitoba Dental Hygiene Association – Asset
Skills, Expertise, and Experience
Minimum two years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist
