North American Partners in Anesthesia seeks a board-certified/eligible anesthesiologist to join Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, VA. The role features daytime surgery schedules with a 2 weeks on, 1 week off rotation, no nightly calls, and a strong emphasis on work-life balance within a supportive team.

You will manage pre-anesthesia assessments, discuss options with patients, and perform induction through emergence under the guidance of the department chief, Kyle Johnson, MD.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
• ECFMG and FLEX certification.
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia.
• Current medical license.

Responsabilités

• Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtain and/or verify patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient’s physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Riverside Walter Reed Hospital is a nonprofit, short term acute care facility at the heart of the Gloucester, VA, community. This 67-bed facility is home to a 24-hour emergency service and a 12,000-square-foot intensive care unit. As part of the Riverside Health System, Walter Reed also has direct access to Riverside Regional Medical Center’s Level II trauma center, a nationally recognized Heart Center, and an 18-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
