Job Description

We are hiring a Pre- Press Operator for our printing plant team in Eagan, Minnesota. As a #2 Pre- Press Operator, you will be responsible for working as a Mid-Level Operator on our Core Publishing Solutions team. You will be operating state of the art plate setter and cover finishing equipment. For this role, you would also be eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus upon being in the role for 90 days.

Hours of Work – Eagan, Minnesota

  • 2nd shift – 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm
  • Occasional overtime up to 4 hours per day and occasional weekend shifts

About the Role: In this opportunity as a Pre- Press Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the line is running smoothly and producing a quality product for our customers.
  • Facilitating Tier 1 meetings and Gemba Walk discussions to drive communication and improvements to the processes associated with the equipment.
  • Motivating others and creating a team environment.

About You:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher. Candidates with a vocational/technical degree are strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading and training others.
  • Experience working in an industrial setting with a wide range of production machinery.
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, make decisions and resolve machine issues.
  • Experience with Lean and continuous improvement.
  • Good communication skills including experience sharing information across shifts and departments.
  • Proven success as a trainer.
  • The ability to run multiple pieces of equipment is required.
  • Previous experience as a Lead on 1-2 Color Web Offset Presses and 4 Color Sheetfed Offset Presses.
  • Competent with rulers and measurement.
  • Able to read, interpret and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and production orders.
  • Can regularly lift at least 5 lbs. above the shoulder as well as push, pull and lift at least 10 lbs occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly standing, walking, crouching, bending, reaching and kneeling.

Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug test, as applicable for the role.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, the base compensation hourly range for this role is $21 - $38.
