Summary

The Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. This role offers an opportunity for an x-ray tech to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting, assisting with primary patient care within their scope of practice under physician supervision. The position requires maintaining effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff, volunteers, and vendors.

Description

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
• Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of each shift.
• Document repeat exposures and parent holding logs with pocket dosimeter readings.
• Assist in radiology quality assurance programs.
• Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Assist in emergencies by promptly notifying medical staff.
• Collect throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing.
• Assist with laboratory testing and routine QA testing.
• Apply splints, ace wraps, and DME devices on patients.
• Provide patient education on crutches and proper use.
• Contribute to team efforts and maintain supplies in exam and x-ray rooms.
• Follow policies and procedures, report needed changes, and maintain a safe environment.
• Keep patient care information confidential in accordance with HIPAA.
• Accept ownership of tasks, explore opportunities to add value, and assist with patient complaints and service recovery as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a Radiologic Technologist program.
• Knowledge of medical practice, terminology, and clinic procedures.
• Ability to act calmly in emergencies and use sound judgment.
• Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of digital imaging and electronic health records (eCW preferred).
