Summary

The Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. The role offers an opportunity for an x-ray tech to apply skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care within their scope of practice under the physician’s supervision. This position involves maintaining effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff, volunteers, and vendors.

Description

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
2. Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake information.
3. Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established safety and care procedures.
4. Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by medical staff.
5. Ensure all equipment is operational and compliant with regulations.
6. Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment.
7. Record repeat exposures and parent holding logs.
8. Assist in radiology quality assurance programs.
9. Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
10. Assist in emergencies by notifying medical staff promptly.
11. Collect throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing.
12. Assist in laboratory testing and routine quality assurance.
13. Apply splints, ace wraps, and DME devices as needed.
14. Educate patients on crutches and device use.
15. Contribute as part of the patient care team.
16. Keep exam and x-ray rooms stocked with supplies.
17. Follow policies and procedures, reporting changes as needed.
18. Maintain a safe and confidential environment, complying with HIPAA.
19. Take ownership of new challenges and explore value-added opportunities.
20. Assist patients with complaints and participate in service recovery.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of digital imaging and electronic health records (eCW preferred).
