Job summary

The Morgan Oliver School seeks a warm, thoughtful 2/3 Lead Teacher to design an integrated literacy, math, and inquiry-based curriculum rooted in an anti-racist, progressive framework influenced by Reggio Emilia and Montessori.

You'll collaborate with families, differentiate instruction, and maintain a joyful, inclusive classroom, with Spanish proficiency considered a strong plus. Bachelor's degree and licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
• State teaching certification or licensure (preferred).
• Experience teaching early elementary students (1st–3rd grade).
• Familiarity with Reggio Emilia, Montessori, inquiry-based, or project-based approaches.
• Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
• Strong classroom community-building skills rooted in restorative practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 2/3 cohort with an integrated literacy, math, and inquiry-based curriculum.
• Ground daily instruction in child-centered pedagogy drawing on Reggio Emilia and Montessori influences.
• Foster a restorative, anti-racist classroom culture focused on empathy and self-advocacy.
• Differentiate instruction and collaborate with the Learning Specialist and support team.
• Use observations to document growth and share progress with families.
• Build strong partnerships with families, with Spanish helpful for communication.
• Collaborate with grade-level leads and specialists to ensure coherence.
• Maintain a joyful, inclusive classroom that supports social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives.
