Job summary

MDS Staffing seeks a Welder in Harlan, Iowa to perform MIG/TIG welding on fabricated, cast, and forged components. You will lay out and fit parts, weld to print specifications, and ensure product quality on the 1st shift.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, reading blueprints, maintaining 5S, and assembling parts with bolts or rivets as needed. Aluminum and stainless TIG experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-year certificate from college or technical school, or 2-5 years of related experience.
• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• 2-5 years of experience with MIG and TIG welding in a fabrication environment.
• Must have aluminum and stainless steel TIG welding experience.
• Blueprint reading is a must.
• Quality-focused with problem-solving skills.
• Welding certification or technical degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan layouts, fits, and welding for fabricated components.
• Set up equipment and perform MIG/TIG welding.
• Read blueprints and ensure welding requirements meet specifications.
• Weld and assemble parts; bolt, clamp, and tack-weld as needed.
• Maintain 5S in the department and ensure quality in output.
