Job Requirements

1. General Responsibilities

• Lay out, align, fit, and weld fabricated steel components to assemble structural forms.
• Assemble structures such as pallet racks, cantilever racks, portable rack systems, industrial steel containers, and guard railing.
• Read blueprints and weld assemblies to meet engineering standards.
• Enter accurate quantities, material used, and time in MD link.
• Secure parts with bolts, clamps, and tack-welding before welding.
• Set up equipment and perform hand welding on automatic MIG welding equipment.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and welding as needed.
• Maintain baseline production rates.
• Operate forklift safely to move materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Experience and Qualifications

1. Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-3 months related experience and/or training.
• AWS Certification to be provided by Steel King.

1. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Apply skills to carry out written and oral instructions.
• Perform essential duties satisfactorily.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Perform basic math operations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Stand and walk regularly for extended periods.
• Be exposed to moving mechanical parts and high noise levels requiring ear protection.
• Handle all types of materials with hands, reach, bend, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, climb, or balance.
• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Have specific vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
