Job summary

FORMA-FAB METALS, INC is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate parts per specifications and company standards. You will perform MIG and TIG welding, read blueprints, and manage ERP data entry to track work orders.

The role requires HS education with at least 2 years welding experience, the ability to read tables and symbols, and the capacity to weld in all positions with high-quality results. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• HS education with a minimum of 2 years welding experience.
• Must read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols.
• Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.
• Must have ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects using MIG and TIG equipment.
• Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and MSDS to plan layout and welding operations.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust welding equipment.
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
• Report non-conforming material to Welding Team Leader or Shop Foreman.
• Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global.

Job description

Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, overtime as needed

Position Summary

To weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and per company workmanship standards by performing the following functions.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to

• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, including heavy and light gauge carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, using both MIG and TIG equipment
• Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Report all non-conforming material to the Welding Team Leader and/or Shop Foreman immediately
• Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global

Requirements

• Maintain excellent attendance and possess the flexibility to work overtime
• HS education with a minimum of 2 years welding experience
• Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and tooling
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols
• Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
• Must have the ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality
• Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, square, and use a variety of power tools
• Work independently and follow direction
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills

A welding test will be administered as part of the application process
