Job summary

Avery Dennison Corporation is seeking a warehouse associate for 1st shift (6AM-2PM) to handle receiving, storage, and distribution of materials. You will process documentation, load/unload materials, label pallets, and prepare shipments while ensuring accuracy and safety on the dock.

You will work with the team to resolve material issues, participate in training, and support continuous improvement while adhering to 5S standards and department guidelines.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in material handling and powered equipment operation preferred.
• Proficiency with inventory control systems, storage locator systems, and basic math calculations.
• Demonstrated skill and safety in operating material handling equipment (Order Picker, Swing Reach, Forklift, Hand Trucks, Pallet Trucks, Clamp Truck). Must be able to obtain a Material Handling License.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and good judgment in working with all levels of personnel.
• Physical capability to continuously stand, sit, stretch, reach, stoop, bend, and work at varying heights.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally with mechanical assistance or team support (up to 2000 lbs. using appropriate equipment).
• Safety-conscious mindset with alertness to potential hazards.

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will develop skills in warehouse operations related to production and vendor products.
• This includes the main receiving dock and managing the final disposition of products.
• Receipt, identification, verification, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods according to department guidelines and specifications.
• Accurately processing and maintaining all related documentation via PC and handwritten records, and maintaining inventory per department guidelines.
• Utilizing appropriate material handling equipment to load, unload, and move materials; preparing orders for shipment including pallet labeling, consolidation, and stretch wrapping.
• Responding to inter-company requests for materials and material counts, serving as a resource for team members in resolving related issues.
• Training, assisting, and supporting team members in problem-solving and achieving department goals.
• Continuously reviewing processes and identifying improvement methods to enhance quality, reduce waste, and eliminate non-value-added work.
• Performing general housekeeping tasks, maintaining 5S standards, and assisting other job functions within the process based on business needs and leadership direction.
