The Kitchen Warehouse Associate utilizes systematic approaches to loading/unload shipments, ensuring shipments are correct, material handling, maintaining an accurate physical inventory, and assisting with maintaining an organized and safe warehouse.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
- Responsible for shipping/receiving, material handling and movement, storage, and tracking of raw and finished products and other components into & through the warehouse and freezer
- Verify incoming/outgoing quantities and description of materials
- Receive in any/all trucks, load and unload material within warehouse and freezer
- Scan product in and out to proper location
- Report any defects, damage, or discrepancies; identify damaged, lost, or missing materials and notifies Lead/Supervisor immediately
- Ensure First In/First Out practices maintained
- Operate forklift, scanners, pallet jack, ladders, scissor lift, and other warehouse equipment
- Check product in from Sysco and cold storage and input into AX/inventory system appropriately
- Accurately load completed meals to cold storage/Ankeny as requested while correctly completing Bill of Lading
- Pull and slack frozen product to be used on packaging line
- Deliver labels, P2’s, pallets, etc. as needed to Plate & Pack, CCRTE, or other production areas as needed
- Monitor truck temps per our SOPs
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work area
- Help maintain proper warehouse security
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous forklift and scanning experience
- Candidate will obtain Mom’s Meals forklift certification upon hire
- Ability to work quickly and safely
- Initiative and ability to work with little supervision
- General understanding of inventory management
- Good reading comprehension, basic math & reasoning skills, and basic data entry ability
- Good time management and prioritization skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- May learn/use some aspects of AX computer inventory system
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 2 years’ warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing and/or food distribution industry
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen
- Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Able to perform repetitive movements
- Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
