Job summary

TP Mechanical in Cincinnati, OH seeks an experienced welder to read blueprints and weld stainless steel and other metals using TIG and related techniques. The role requires precise cutting, grinding, and assembly to tight tolerances, machine setup, and strict safety adherence.

You will inspect welds, document workmanship, and coordinate with foreman and field crews to keep projects on schedule. A minimum of 1 year welding experience and a GED or trade training are expected.

Qualifications

• High school or GED; trade school preferred.
• Minimum 1 year welding experience.
• Able to pass pipe test (GTAW).
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Familiar with pipe and structural welding practices.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Weld and fabricate stainless steel and other metals using TIG and other welding techniques.
• Cut, grind, fit, and assemble materials to precise measurements and tolerances.

• Maintain proper documentation of welds, materials, and quality control checks.
• Follow safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.
• Assist with material handling, loading, and staging of fabricated components for delivery.
• Collaborate with shop foreman, project managers, and field crews to meet deadlines and support project schedules.
• Perform equipment maintenance and report issues with tools, machines, or materials.
• Keeps work area clear of unnecessary clutter and performs routine clean-up as needed.

Education

Physical Requirements

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50
• Able to perform shift work if needed
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in a shop environment.

Special Requirements

• Valid Drivers License
