Job summary

Graham Packaging Company, West Chicago, IL, is seeking a Shipping Clerk for 1st shift (7am–3pm, Mon-Fri). This role operates a forklift and manages daily shipments, receiving, and related paperwork with SAP and other spreadsheets.

Responsibilities include preparing bills of lading, coordinating with supervisors and customers, recording inventory, and ensuring loads depart on time while upholding GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
• Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipments to Customers and Warehouse.
• Enter correct information on Bill of Lading and fax to customers as required.
• Contact customers and common carriers as required.
• Ensure all loads go out on time with the correct materials, in shippable condition.
• Help provide training assistance for new Warehouse/Shipping personnel.
