Job summary

Morton Industries, LLC. is hiring for 1st shift Shipping and Receiving Clerks to assemble and prepare outgoing parts, equipment, material and rejects for shipment. Loads and unloads shipments and verifies against receiving papers.

Performs cycle counts and data entry to ensure accurate inventory records. Responsibilities include routing items to departments, maintaining shipping materials, and coordinating with vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse environment is a plus.

Loads and unloads shipments. Receives materials, checking against receiving papers or purchase orders. Performs cycle counts for accurate inventory of material. Performs required data entry to ensure accurate records.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSInclude, but are not limited to, the following:Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.Determines method of shipment.Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.Inserts items into containers.Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages. Routes items to departments.Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.Operates industrial truck or uses hand truck to load and unload vehicles, move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.Process, print, and record all incoming and outgoing material.Expedite materials at outside vendors.Maintain inventory via computer.Store and retrieve materials.Complete work order cards.Deliver or pick up materials from vendors.Coordinate efforts of other employee/duties in the area.All other duties as assignedMorton Industries, LLC. is an Equal Opportunity EmployerPREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent
