Job summary

The Landings Association, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect residents, staff, guests, and property while delivering courteous service.

You will serve as a first point of contact, monitor access, patrol the grounds, and respond to incidents with a proactive, safety-first approach. Ideal candidates have a High school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, a valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Monitor access by checking IDs and issuing visitor passes.
• Patrol the property on foot or by vehicle to ensure safety.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies; provide first aid if needed.
• Operate CCTV and security systems to identify issues.
• Prepare clear incident and activity reports.
• Assist residents, guests, and visitors with directions and information.
• Enforce safety policies and escalate issues as required.
• Support traffic or crowd control during events or emergencies.

Job Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Security Officer and help ensure the safety and security of our clients, employees, visitors, and property. As the first point of contact for many within our community, you will act as both a protector and ambassador, delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a professional presence. This role requires strong observational skills, quick decision-making abilities, and a proactive approach to handling security and safety matters.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor Access: Check IDs, issue visitor passes, and ensure only authorized people enter the premises.
• Patrol the Area: Walk or drive around the property to make sure everything is safe and secure.
• Respond to Incidents: Handle alarms, emergencies, or suspicious activity and provide first aid if needed.
• Use Technology: Monitor CCTV cameras and other security systems to spot issues quickly.
• Write Reports: Keep clear and detailed records of any incidents or activities.
• Help Out: Offer directions and assistance to residents, guests, and visitors.
• Enforce Rules: Educate others on safety policies and escalates issues if needed.
• Support During Emergencies: Help with traffic or crowd control during special events or emergencies.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email, smartphones).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred; we can provide training).
• Great communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Physically able to patrol, respond to emergencies, and work in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
