Job summary

Greer Stop Nut, part of Precision Castparts Corp., seeks an experienced Screw Machine Tool Setter for 1st shift in Nashville, TN. Must have prior setup and operation experience on Acme, Davenport, or similar screw machines. Start time 5:00 AM, 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday with potential overtime on Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating and setting up Swiss-style screw machines or similar metal-machining equipment.
• Knowledge of setting and adjusting offsets, cams, and gears.
• Ability to load and secure fixtures with minimal assistance.
• Working knowledge of shop math, tool geometry, and basic geometry.
• Ability to read prints and apply dimension specs to inspection.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned machine(s) to manufacture parts to required specifications.
• Use samples, blueprints, and schematics to determine the method and sequence of operations.
• Protect machines and products by following processes and protocols for loading and handling.
• Maintain product quality by monitoring and adjusting machine offsets as needed.
• Perform in-process inspection actions and document measurements against tolerances and specs.
• Perform first article and buyoff activities.
• Set up fixtures and cutting tools during setup operations.
• Perform inspection tasks of intermediate complexity using drawings and advanced inspection tools.
• Run production on multiple machines simultaneously (primary & secondary).
• Work safely under PPE and safety guidelines; adhere to safety practices.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
