Job summary

Smalley-Steel-Rin is seeking a production operator in Lake Zurich, IL. You will set up and run small flat wire machines, load wire safely, and operate precision testing tools while ensuring data is accurately entered and documented.

Responsibilities include inspecting wire quality, reporting machine or material issues, preparing materials to spec, and supporting cross-department production as needed. A basic math/English proficiency test is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Mechanical experience with forming/press equipment is beneficial.
• Ability to pass basic math and English tests.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 2 small flat wire machines, loading wire safely.
• Operate testing equipment (micrometers, hardness testers, etc.).
• Enter data and label wire data accurately in the computer system.
• Inspect wire quality at each setup step and report issues.
• Prepare raw material for production within required tolerances.
• Provide complete, accurate documentation when required.
