Job summary

Sheridan Liberty is hiring a 1st Shift Roll Tender in Liberty, MO. You will support a web offset press, loading rolls, prepping splices, and maintaining flow. Training is available if needed and overtime is possible to maximize earnings.

Ideal candidates bring mechanical skills, comfort with computers, and the stamina for overnight hours. A strong team environment and grow with a leading print manufacturer are offered.

Qualifications

• High mechanical aptitude and strong familiarity with computers.
• Experience in manufacturing or printing preferred, especially with web offset presses and auto-splicers.
• Ability to troubleshoot, adjust auto-splicers, and follow detailed job specifications.
• Detail-oriented with stamina to handle large rolls during overnight hours.
• Bonus: certification or experience operating lift trucks or mechanical trucks.

Responsibilities

• Load large paper rolls onto the automatic splicing unit, insert the splicer shaft, and secure holding chucks.
• Check rolls for blemishes or tears, cut away damaged areas, and apply adhesive strips to backup rolls.
• Manage the auto-splicer and make adjustments to ensure continuous press operation.
• Thread paper through complex press components following exact job specifications.
• Safely operate a mechanical truck to move heavy paper rolls to the press area as needed.
• Keep the press and components in pristine working order and prepare flat stock for sheet-fed presses.
