Job summary

Generous Brands in Southern California is searching for a Quality Control Technician to perform analytical analysis, audits, and sampling for beverage, dressing, kids’ tube, fiber, concentrate and IQF production. The role sits in the laboratory and processing facility to uphold Bolthouse Farms quality/food safety parameters.

Daily audits of production procedures, line checks, sample collection, calibration of lab equipment and microbiological/ATP swabbing are core duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Excel and Word
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be self-motivated and can perform multiple tasks
• Ability to communicate in English including writing, speaking and reading, reasonable Spanish desired but not mandatory
• Must be teamwork oriented, communicate and interact well with others
• Utilize Bolthouse Farms standard operating procedures to prepare and/or analyze various parameters including good laboratory practices and aseptic techniques
• Ability to taste and evaluate finished products
• Ability to differentiate colors to examine product quality difference
• Dependable and can work flexible hours including weekends
• Knowledge of math and science concepts
• Detail oriented and have a good writing ability for clear record keeping

Responsibilities

• Perform daily audits of production procedures and verify codes, scales, water levels and GMP documentation
• Audit lines against established guidelines and frequency
• Collaborate with QC Supervisor and production personnel to address non-compliance
• Collect samples, operate lab equipment, analyze data and ship samples
• Obtain and examine product retain shelf life samples
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Conduct analytical analysis of in-process and finished goods at the facility
• Perform pre-operational, in-process and post-operation food safety and sanitation audits
• Perform microbiological/ATP swabbing of equipment and facilities
• Place product on hold for deviations and complete corrective actions
• Enforce QA, hygiene and GMP policies
• Obtain product retains for evaluation
• Complete quality paperwork in hard copy and electronic form
• Other duties as assigned
