Wilson Tool Canada in Minnesota is seeking a 1st shift Punch Press Operator - Specials to program and operate CNC punch presses in the Specials area, perform set-ups, and support customers with sample programming and tooling guidance.

You will maintain the tool crib, manage samples, and work with design, sales, and operations to deliver productive part runs and customer solutions, with emphasis on quality and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of parts fabrications.
  • 3+ years of machining or tool building experience.
  • Experience with CAM software (Radan, Boost, DR.ABE, etc.) is a plus.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Customer service experience including phone and e-mail communications.

1st Shift Punch Press Operator - Specials
  • White Bear Lake, MN
JOB SUMMARY

Responsibilities of the trial press specialist vary day to day and include interaction with design, sales desk, operations, and customers. Programming and operating CNC punch presses in the Punching – Specials area, including set‑ups, having a vast punching product knowledge, and looking ahead at specials coming down the pipeline. Troubleshooting tooling and working directly with customers on a variety of customer service needs (i.e. sample programming, instructions/recommendations, tooling solutions, etc.) will be a daily task, including phone and email communications directly with the customer. They are responsible for the maintaining the tool crib, sample material, and general area around the 3 CNC presses.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Learn and use multiple CAM systems to program and operate CNC punch presses.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the punching product we offer and our customer needs.
  • Set-up and run small production runs on various punching machines.
  • Maintain the tool cribs of all the punch presses.
  • Maintain the library and stocking levels of salesperson samples.
  • Work with customers to deliver programming solutions for successful part production.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of parts fabrications
  • 3+ years of machining or tool building
  • Previous experience with CAM software ( i.e. Radan, Boost, DR.ABE, etc.) a plus
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints
  • Customer service experience including phone and e-mail communications, plus the ability to create short demonstration videos to help customers when needed.
  • Education: 2 year technical degree in machining or fabricating
