Job summary

Smalley is hiring a Punch Press Operator to join our Manufacturing Department. You will operate the automatic index cut machine, airshear, epic III Scale, deburring wheel, belt sander, and punch press machine, while inspecting retaining rings and wave springs to spec using calipers and micrometers.

We value independent learners, precise documentation, and clear communication. Prior manufacturing experience is not required as training is provided and teamwork across departments is encouraged.

Qualifications

• No prior manufacturing experience required, we will train you.
• Retail and restaurant experience welcomed.
• Learns independently to operate machines.
• Operates all testing equipment including micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Retrieves gauges, tooling, racks, and materials needed.
• Provides complete, accurate documentation when required.
• Pass required exam of basic math and English.

Responsibilities

• Operates the automatic index cut machine, airshear, Epic III Scale, deburring wheel, belt sander, and punch press machine.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform heat sampling.
• Inspects retaining rings and wave springs according to specifications and drawings, utilizing various measuring tools.
• Works closely with Punch Press Set Up Operators regarding any machine issues, troubleshooting, etc.
• Participates in cross departmental work production based on business needs.
