Job summary

Magna Exteriors in Michigan is seeking a Production Team Lead to support and prioritize activities of a manufacturing team, including temporary workers, to meet customer expectations in cost, quality, and delivery.

This self-directed role emphasizes a safe work environment, continuous improvement, and problem-solving within the MAFACT Production System; reports to Shift Supervisor and drives labor efficiency and high standards across cells.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal contacts at all organizational levels.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills to ensure the successful performance of job duties.
• Demonstrated understanding of business operations and the ability to connect work priorities with operational procedures to resolve issues.
• Proven leadership and development skills, with experience in guiding and supporting team members toward achieving short-term departmental goals.
• Ability to motivate and inspire teams to meet moderate-term objectives and performance standards.
• English proficiency required, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safety/5S - Corrects or commends health and safety performance in work area and takes immediate action to correct unsafe conditions or actions.
• Quality - Makes quality-controlled decisions based on established quality standards and checks.
• Communication - Effectively communicates performance in all aspects of the business including safety, quality, and productivity.
• Staffing - Responsible for training of personnel to meet takt time and relief schedules.
• HR/Training - Development of employees using Training Within Industry and training matrices.
• Improvements - Leads teams through problem solving and time studies for operation improvements.
• Materials - Leads on-line schedule attainment with MES and visual controls.
• Upward Communications - Tracks performance against goals and escalates as needed.
• General - Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
• EHS - Maintains compliance with safety policies and procedures.
