Job summary

Engine Power Components, Inc. seeks a 1st shift supervisor to lead production operations, drive safety, quality, and productivity, and supervise manufacturing staff. You will coordinate daily activities, manage resources, and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned employees in accordance with company policies, procedures, and practices.
• Onboard, train, coach, and develop employees.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback.
• Address attendance, conduct, and performance issues through coaching.
• Maintain employee training records and skills matrices.
• Support succession planning and employee development initiatives.
• Promote employee engagement and maintain a positive work environment.
• Plan and coordinate daily production activities to meet customer requirements.
• Allocate labor and resources to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust priorities as needed.
• Coordinate maintenance, quality, engineering, and material support activities.
• Lead shift startup, shift change, and daily communication activities.
• Ensure accurate production reporting and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with quality system requirements including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
• Verify adherence to control plans, standardized work, and process requirements.
• Respond to quality concerns and initiate containment activities when necessary.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Support audits, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.
• Facilitate problem-solving activities using structured methodologies.
• Participate in and lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
• Monitor and improve operational performance metrics.
• Monitor departmental performance metrics across safety, quality, productivity, scrap, delivery, and OEE.
• Develop and execute action plans to address performance gaps.
• Review and approve employee timekeeping records.
• Manage employee scheduling, attendance, and leave requests.
• Complete required reports, documentation, and recordkeeping activities.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
