Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Production Lead (1st Shift) to manage loading/unloading, verify all paperwork, and assist with quality checks for outgoing material. The role also involves coordinating material transports between buildings using overhead cranes and yard equipment.

You will serve as the safety liaison on the warehouse floor, communicating production needs, guiding a diverse team, and helping train other employees to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Experience with ERP systems and basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and yard trucks.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials for inbound/outbound shipments.
• Verify paperwork and assist with quality checks for outgoing material.
