Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a manufacturing associate to support shipping, receiving, and machine operations in Oakwood, GA. The role involves forklift and overhead crane usage, assembling skids, packaging, and finishing parts per customer specs.

Qualifying candidates will have basic measuring tool skills, the ability to work quickly and accurately, and at least 1 year in manufacturing. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Ability to use basic measuring tools accurately.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
• Knowledge of power tools and machinery is a plus.
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in shipping and receiving operations.
• Assist machine operators and load/unload materials with a forklift.
• Operate overhead crane to move material safely.
• Assemble wooden skids and band material.
• Package parts and finish them by hand or with deburring tools.
• Measure material per customer specs and keep area clean.

Job Description

• Assists in shipping and receiving department
• Assists machine operators
• Operates forklift to load and unload material
• Operates overhead crane to load and unload material
• Assembles wooden skids and assists in the banding of material
• Packages and/or kits parts
• Finishes parts by hand grinding or use of deburring machine
• Measures material or parts based on customer specifications
• Keep work area clean and maintained throughout shift
• Shift 5:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Thursday

Qualifications

• Skilled at basic measuring tools
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to pay strong attention to detail and follow directions
• Knowledge of power tools and machinery is a plus
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience
