Job summary

Trane Technologies in Kentwood, MI is seeking a Production Team Lead to build engineered HVAC units and lead a production cell to meet daily demand. You will train staff, enforce safety and quality, and collaborate across engineering, quality and purchasing. This role requires leadership and LEAN discipline, with overtime/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use a tape measure.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Build engineered HVAC equipment and lead a work cell.
• Promote and adhere to LEAN guidelines.
• Maintain team build standards and coordinate with other teams.
• Follow standards and processes for the specific station.
• Document daily activities with takt tracker and station boards.
• Turn in all required paperwork and reporting promptly.
• Work effectively with purchasing and materials personnel.
• Assist with initiatives to improve the business.
• Collaborate with technicians, team leads, engineering, quality and safety teams.
• Attend or lead meetings with team members and management.
• Follow company standards for build, quality, values and behaviors.
• Follow safety policies.
• Demonstrate proactive leadership and communication.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends.
• Flexibility to occasionally work in other departments.
