Job summary

Armada Staffing Group seeks a 1st Shift Polishing Technician in New Haven, IN to perform polishing and finishing on tooling components. The role starts at $17/hour and runs Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–2:00 PM with some weekend work.

You will operate buffing wheels and finishing machines, follow safety rules, and maintain a clean, organized workstation. The job requires a High School Diploma or GED and basic mechanical aptitude, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn polishing and finishing.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand/arm motions.
• Ability to bend, reach, and lift or move up to 40–50 lbs as needed.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Wear PPE and operate polishing equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic polishing and finishing tasks on super abrasive tools and components.
• Operate polishing equipment, including buffing wheels, hand tools, and basic finishing machines, according to established procedures.
• Follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and quality standards for all polishing operations.
• Clean and prepare parts before and after polishing.
• Visually inspect finished parts and use basic measuring tools to verify quality and finish requirements.
• Identify and report product defects, equipment issues, or process irregularities to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
• Assist with material handling, part movement, and production workflow as directed.
• Accurately record time and production information in accordance with company procedures.
• Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
• Work safely around rotating equipment, abrasive materials, polishing compounds, dust, and noise.
• Support production goals while maintaining consistent quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
