Job summary

Steel Technologies in Murfreesboro, AR seeks a Packager to set up and operate banding lines, prepare skids, and package materials for shipment. You will work with forklift and overhead crane to move products and ensure accuracy per customer specs.

You will learn our packaging standards, identify finished goods, and maintain safe, clean work areas. Training includes forklift certification; strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to use tape measure, micrometers, and calipers.
• Able to comply with safety rules and requirements.
• Pass necessary Forklift Certification and/or Crane Training.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepare skids to customer specifications.
• Operate turnstile, down layer, banding line equipment and crane as needed to package material.
• Package material to meet customer specifications per customer supplied information and standard packaging instructions.
• Ensure proper identification and segregation of materials.
• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to move materials to and from storage areas and work stations.
• Safely handle material without damage.
• Clean packaging area or assigned areas.
• Maintain production standards.
• Load, transport, unload and stack materials according to procedures.
