Job summary

Steel Technologies is seeking a Packager to set up and operate banding equipment, packaging materials for shipment, and learn about finished goods and customers. You will work hands-on with equipment and packaging procedures to meet customer specs and ensure proper handling of products.

The role emphasizes safe material handling, accuracy in packaging, and adherence to production standards within an on-site facility in Santa Teresa, NM.

Qualifications

• Applicant must follow safety rules and requirements.
• Ability to use tape measure, micrometers, and calipers is preferred.
• Forklift and/or crane certification/training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare skids to customer specifications
• Operate turnstile, down layer, banding line equipment and crane as needed to package material
• Package material to meet customer specifications per customer supplied information and standard packaging instructions
• Ensure proper identification and segregation
• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to transport materials to and from storage areas, workstations, and areas of assignment
• Safely handle material without damage
• Clean packaging area or any other assigned area
• Maintain production standards
• Load, transport, unload, and stack materials in accordance with established procedures
