Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring for a 1st Shift Warehouse Package Handler - Shipping at our Brighton, MI distribution center. The role starts at $20.13 per hour, with two pay raises in the first year, and a Sunday-Thursday work week. Shifts start at 6:50 AM and may vary with business volume.

Training is provided with our team. Applicants must be 18+, able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime, and read/write English. Drug screening and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to work holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.
• Must pass drug test and background check.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pack trailers on the shipping team.
• Handle order processing and material movement in the warehouse.
• Lift up to 100 pounds as part of daily duties.

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers, and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. You'll be on your feet for the duration of your shift and you'll be lifting up to 100 pounds, but there's no experience required - we train you how to get the job done with our dedicated training team. Packing trailers on our shipping team is hard work, so we'll pay you a starting wage that scales with production and efficiency- the better you perform, the more you earn.

• We have frozen products - your ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions is required while you're here.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions).
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.
