Qualifications

  • Experience in optics or fabrication preferred; QA/inspection experience a plus.
  • Strong reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to precision.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate precision optical components from initial print through final product.
  • Perform beveling, milling, blocking, grinding, polishing, curve generation, and inspections.
  • Ensure all work meets customer and quality requirements.
  • Conduct detailed measurements and in-process quality checks.
  • Follow established procedures and documentation standards.
  • Monitor fabrication conditions such as Baume and pH.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Perform advanced blocking and polishing, including single test plate work.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and wedge control for high-quality finishes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fabrication steps or workflows.
  • Mentor junior technicians and assist with training.
  • Take on project or process leadership as skills grow.
  • Support additional departmental tasks as needed.
