Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Material Handler for 1st shift to support production through efficient material movement and safe operation of material handling equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least two years of sit-down forklift experience, with forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain it on hire. English fluency and basic computer literacy are required; overtime is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of sit-down forklift experience required.
• Forklift certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire.
• One year or more of warehouse clerk experience preferred.
• Fluency in English required, verbal and written.
• Basic computer literacy preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Electric Pallet Jacks, Forklifts, Stand-up Reach Trucks, and Sit-down Swing Reach Trucks.
• Unload inbound materials and warehouse materials, supply production lines and load outbound shipments.
• Complete daily MHE maintenance checklists and ensure safety equipment is functional.
• Accurately count and describe materials, maintain inventory, and perform daily cycle counts.
• Complete paperwork related to material movements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment and work area; adhere to company policies.
• Overtime is required and other duties as assigned.
