Job summary

Navigate Search is seeking a maintenance technician in New Jersey to maintain and repair plant equipment and utilities. You will troubleshoot PLC programs, configure process instruments, and build/wire control panels per schematics.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in manufacturing, knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems, and proficiency with SAP and MS Office. Shift from 6AM to 2PM on weekdays; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with Siemens Step7 / TIA and Allen Bradley RS5000 software preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be able to operate lift trucks with specified attachments.
• Overtime and weekend work availability.
• 3–5 years in customer service or equivalent in manufacturing.
• Experience with SAP software.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to work 6AM–2PM weekdays.
• Demonstrated organizational abilities and priority setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plant/buildings equipment; troubleshoot and perform preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Upload, download, configure, modify and troubleshoot PLC programs and process instruments.
• Build and wire control panels for machinery per blueprints and schematics.
• Locate problems by observing devices in operation; use precision measuring/testing instruments.
• Ensure operation by completing PMs on motors, conveyors, production machines; follow docs and specs.
• Perform daily rounds including monitoring of fire systems.
• Interact with plant floor staff for process improvement input.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering and maintenance team to support operations.
• Manage CMMS: entering, printing and closing work orders.
• Adhere to safety requirements.

Job description

• Accountable for proper maintenance and repair of all plant/buildings and grounds equipment to include, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance.
• Upload, download, configure, modify and troubleshoot PLC programs and process instruments.
• May be responsible for building and wiring control panels for machinery per blueprints and schematics
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listens for problems; uses precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic components, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Perform daily rounds in maintenance as needed to include monitoring of fire systems.
• Daily interaction with plant floor employees to seek input on process improvement ideas.
• Work closely with Process Engineering and other maintenance team members to support plant operations.
• Ability to learn and manage computerized maintenance management system to include entering, printing and closing work orders

• Experience with Siemens Step7 / TIA and Allen Bradley RS5000 software highly preferred
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must possess or have the ability to learn to operate lift trucks with the following attachments: fork, probe, pipe and roll clamp.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends
• Three to five years of customer service or equivalent experience in a manufacturing setting
• SAP software experience
• Demonstrated organizational abilities and priority setting
• Familiar with Microsoft Office products (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Must be able to work from 6AM to 2PM weekdays
