Job summary

Pretium Packaging is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the C shift (7 am to 7 pm) at our Illinois facility. You will lead troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems, and mentor junior technicians.

The role emphasizes RCA, PLC/VFD programming, preventive maintenance, reading schematics, and collaboration with engineering and operations to keep line uptime and safety standards high.

Qualifications

Description

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Mentor and support lower-tier technicians through on-the-job training and technical guidance.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electro-mechanics, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, sensors, and automated systems.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills including AC/DC circuits, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
• Proficient with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
• Forklift and aerial lift certified.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Effective communicator with the ability to document tasks clearly and train others.
