Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Machine Shop Operator - 1st Shift in Santa Ana, CA. The role runs 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with a 40-hour workweek and potential overtime. The position offers full benefits and a 401(k) plan from day one; the hourly rate is $24.75.

You will set up and run fabrication equipment, read drawings, and inspect parts to ensure conformance to specifications. The job requires ability to lift up to 40 pounds and good math and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Experience with weld light, heavy gauge aluminum, stainless steel, brass work
• 1 year of experience in manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Set up and run punch presses, power shear, hydraulic breakers, and other fabrication equipment.
• Prepare metal parts, fixtures, and equipment for fabrication.
• Maintain sheet metal equipment.
• Read drawings and sketches of work to be performed.
• Operate light metalworking machines to cut, bend, drill, or shape sheet metal.
• Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveters, welding, or soldering.
• Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces.
• Inspect product quality and conformance to specifications.
• Print work orders and update dispatch lists.
• Move materials using a forklift or pallet jack.
