Job Requirements
- General Responsibilities
- Operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saw, roll, brake, press, forming machine, spinning machine, and punch to cut, bend, and shape steel.
- Analyze work orders and read blueprints to determine materials, operations, and sequencing.
- Report quantities, materials used, and time in MD Link.
- Set machine stops and guides to specified lengths using scales, rules, or templates.
- Position workplace against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.
- Activate machines and observe operations to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Measure work pieces for accuracy and remove burrs, rust, or scale.
- Perform minor maintenance like oiling machines and dies.
- Assist in machine setup and handle finished work pieces.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Other Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; 1-3 months related experience or training.
- Certification in forklift operation (training provided if necessary).
- Skills in reading, analyzing, and interpreting documents, instructions, and manuals.
- Ability to perform duties satisfactorily, respond to inquiries, and present information effectively.
- Mathematical skills for calculations and measurements.
- Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, climb, or balance as needed.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Detect smells related to machine performance.
- Work in environments with moving parts, vibration, and high noise levels; ear protection required.
- Safety
- Follow all safety rules and procedures, understand SOPs.
