Job summary

UFP Industries in Salisbury, NC, seeks a dependable Machine Operator I to set up and operate production equipment according to established procedures, ensuring smooth shift start and efficient throughput.

You will secure materials, monitor quality, complete pre-shift inspections, keep a clean work area, maintain records, and participate in safety and continuous improvement programs. This role requires at least 6 months of manufacturing experience and basic math skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Complete work area setup.
• Operate and feed the machine safely and efficiently.
• Stack finished products according to procedures and label and band components if required.
• Keep work area safe, clean and organized; ensure equipment is safe to operate.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and report issues.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintain production records as required.
• Check materials and finished products for standards compliance.
• Follow safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.
• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
