Job summary

Heaven Hill Brands is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our Deep Eddy Vodka production facility in Buda, TX. You will perform diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment to support production.

Role requires 4+ years of industrial maintenance, strong hydraulic/pneumatic skills, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts. You will supervise contractors, maintain records, and participate in preventive maintenance and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent with maintenance journeyman certification.
  • Minimum 4 years in Industrial Maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical skills with PLC exposure.
  • Knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance and blueprints.

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment to support goals.
  • Lead designated maintenance activities and supervise contractors as needed.
  • Maintain maintenance records and participate in parts procurement.
  • Assist with line changes and process improvements.

Job description

This position is based at our Deep Eddy Vodka production facility in Buda, TX. Schedule for this position is Monday – Friday 5:30 am – 3:00 pm.

What the Role Is

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of business goals. The Maintenance Mechanic will assist in the daily operation and direction of the maintenance function, work closely with the Weekend Bottling Supervisor and act as a lead on designated activities and interface with operators and external contacts in the accomplishment of organizational goals and objectives.

How You Will Spend Your Time
  • Perform routine repairs and maintain all equipment to enhance efficiency and prevent malfunctions that could lead to production downtime and costly repairs
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate source of problems by examining equipment and mechanical devices
  • Participate in the purchasing of new machinery and equipment, contacting equipment manufacturers to understand equipment capabilities and to order parts
  • Assist in line changes and process improvements
  • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop equipment
  • Clean equipment, lubricate moving parts, change fluids, modify equipment and replace parts and components as required
  • Maintain records of all maintenance activities
  • Conduct preventive maintenance measures on structures, equipment, electrical, plumbing as well as facilities
  • Supervise contractors carrying out work within facilities
  • Control downtime by informing production employees of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitor compliance
  • Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating required equipment, parts and supplies
  • Support and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and training production employees on efficient operation and basic routine maintenance procedures
  • Maintain positive work environment by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with co-workers, customers, clients and management

Who You Are…

Required Skills and Experience
  • Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Maintenance, Maintenance Journeyman’s Card or equivalent certification
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working as Maintenance Technician/Mechanic in Industrial Maintenance manufacturing environment, including strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience
  • Working knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance techniques
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of maintenance procedures and interpretation of written and oral directions, including blueprints, construction plans, drawings, assembly instructions
  • Working knowledge of machine tools including conveyors, packaging equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and a work history that demonstrates a good work ethic, excellent attendance and the ability to contribute to the production of a quality product safely
  • High degree of initiative, creativity, self-direction, and respect for the safety rules and procedures
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team environment
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills to effectively direct and provide instruction to others
  • Must be capable of making timely decisions utilizing logic and sound judgment
Valued But Not Required Skills And Experience
  • Experience working in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Spirits Industry
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement techniques
  • Proficient with MIG and TIG Welding
Physical Requirements

  • Stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment
  • Stand constantly and/or move in and around work areas
  • Climb ladders/catwalks/equipment, stoop, bend, and/or crawl
  • Work at elevated heights more than 5 feet above floor level
  • Work in awkward positions and tight areas
  • Lift 50 lbs. frequently and 80 lbs. occasionally
  • Have adequate near vision to read gauges, controls, knobs, levers and CRT’s
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
