Job summary

Compana Pet Brands seeks a 1st shift Industrial Equipment Technician in Omaha, NE. The role focuses on sustaining plant performance, diagnosing downtime causes, and improving equipment reliability on a 4-day, 10-hour schedule.

You will use CMMS, support fabrication and installation of gear, and ensure safe operation of all machinery while coordinating with production teams. Strong English, 3–5 years of maintenance experience, and forklift certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college or trade accreditation preferred.
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or packaging.
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.
• Experience with automated packaging systems that use PLCs, HMI and VFDs preferred.
• Able to operate and maintain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Sustain or improve plant operating performance by identifying root causes of downtime and solving problems.
• Operate and maintain the CMMS effectively.
• Assist with fabrication, modification and installation of production equipment.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles in safe working order.
• Record issues, parts used and labor hours for tasks.
• Assist production supervisors in educating staff on equipment operation and safety.

Title: 1st shift Industrial Equipment Technician

Location: Omaha, NE

Shift: 1st shiftM-TH 6:00 am - 4:00 pm, Fri as needed

Work 4 days a week/10 hours per day

3 weeks of PTO (pro rated in the first year.)

Reimbursement for prescription safety glasses (up to $250) and steel toed shoes (up to $75)

As our Industrial Equipment Technician, you’ll make an impact by:

• Helping to sustain/improve plant operating performance. Identify root causes of equipment downtime or delay. Follow a structured, cost-effective approach to problem solving.
• Operatingand maintaining the CMMS in an effective and productive manner.
• Assisting with fabrication, modification and installation of production equipment.
• Maintaining equipment and vehicles in safe working order.
• Recordingissues, parts used, and labor hours accumulated to complete task or assignment.
• Assisting production supervisors with educating employees about effective equipment operation and avoidance of injuries and equipment damage.

What you need to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college or trade-related accreditation preferred
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred
• Experience with automated packaging systems that use PLC's, HMI and Variable Frequency Drives preferred
• Able to operate and maintain certification on forklift
• Able to bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, walk across uneven surfaces, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights over 20 feet, lift up to 75 pounds (some overhead lifting), and stand for long periods
• Work hour flexibility (occasional work during off-shift and weekends, per business need).
• To better ensure for the operational performance and safety of the business and the individual, the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English is required.
