Job summary

Ethos Pet Brands operates its Brownwood, TX manufacturing facility and seeks a Maintenance Tech III to perform mechanical repairs, electrical work, and routine preventive maintenance. You will analyze faults, follow GMP/SOPs, and document repairs while supporting production teams and inventory management.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of repair/equipment maintenance experience, forklift certification, and skills in lockout/tagout, reading blueprints, and 3-phase power.

Qualifications

• High school, GED or equivalent.
• Forklift certified.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in general repair / equipment maintenance, construction, electrical or related fields.
• Understanding of lockout/tagout procedures.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Welding experience.
• Electrical experience.
• Experience with drag conveyors, screw conveyors, gearboxes, pulley systems, chains and sprockets.
• Experience with control wiring and three phase 240 and 480 volts.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
• Able to work off-shift and overtime when needed.
• Read blueprints and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance; replace bearings, seals, shafts, and wiring.
• Analyze machine error messages and diagnose equipment issues from operator feedback.
• Follow SOPs, GMPs and safety policies; report accidents or near misses.
• Maintain a clean work environment after tasks.
• Document repairs in maintenance records and update the reporting app.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and parts.
• Escalate issues requiring supervisor involvement.
• Prioritize maintenance requests based on production impact.
• Help maintain facility parts inventory; support production and projects.
• Research/ troubleshoot issues using manuals and schematics.

Maintenance Tech III will work out of our Brownwood Texas manufacturing facility, and report to the Maintenance Manager. The key responsibilities and duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and performing regular preventative maintenance and electrical work as assigned and promptly. Examples include changing bearings, seals, and shafts, along with replacing hardware, reading wire diagrams, and wiring motors
• Analyze machine error messages and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment issues
• Follow and comply with machine/facility Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company safety policies. This includes reporting accidents, property damage, or near misses to a supervisor
• Maintain a clean work environment after the completion of a task
• Respond to maintenance requests submitted via the reporting app or communicated by the production team and ensure to document the repair/maintenance within the maintenance records.
• Perform routine maintenance of machines and parts, such as inspecting drivers, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventative maintenance actions
• Report and document issues that require escalation when needed
• Prioritize maintenance requests based on impact on the production schedule
• Help maintain parts inventory for the facility
• Support production line and general operation teams on a variety of projects when needed
• Research / troubleshoot maintenance issues using repair manuals, equipment schematics, and other available resources to diagnose machine malfunctions
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school, GED or equivalent
• Forklift certified
• 5 to 10 years of experience in general repair /equipment maintenance, construction, electrical or related fields
• Understanding of the lockout/tagout procedures
• Basic mechanical skills
• Welding experience
• Electrical experience
• Experience with working on drag conveyors, screw conveyors, gearboxes, pulley systems, chains and sprockets
• Experience with control wiring and three phase 240 and 480 volts
• Experience working with Hydraulic and pneumatic controls
• Able to support off-shift maintenance issues when skills are not immediately available during operating hours which includes working overtime
• Able to perform basic 3-phase and single-phase industrial electrical repairs
• Able to perform diagnostic tests with a basic electrical multimeter (voltage, current draw, and continuity)
• Able to read blueprints and electrical drawings
• Must be flexible and have the ability to be a team player in a positive and professional mannerism
• Must be willing to submit a background check and pre-employment drug screening
• Must be eligible to work in the US

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Sensor and PLC Troubleshooting
• Knowledge of VFD Controls
• Experience troubleshooting electric motors
• Experience with Stick Welding

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to push, pull, carry, or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours
