Lake Erie Tobacco Company is hiring a General Laborer to support production operations in a fast-paced tobacco plant. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in paperwork, material handling, and teamwork to meet production targets.

Expect physical duties, stand-up shifts, and opportunity to grow in a manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality and safety procedures, with some experience in manufacturing and tobacco-related processes

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic mathematical, written, and verbal skills.
• Must be able to stand for 8 or more-hour shift.
• Strong safety orientation required.
• Have at least 1 year of experience operating manufacturing equipment, a plus.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Preferred tobacco manufacturing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fill out and maintain production paperwork.
• Load materials to be processed by making machines.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs. occasionally.
• Safely operate powered pallet jack.
• Mark and label finished products according to standards.
• Pack finished cases with the correct amount of product.
• Weigh finished product and notify operators if problems arise.
• Load finished products on pallets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor or Secondary Manager.

The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, attentive to detail, and committed to following safety procedures, maintaining quality, and meeting production expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately fill out and maintain production paperwork.
• Load materials to be processed by making machines.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs. occasionally.
• Safely operate powered pallet jack.
• Correctly mark and label finished products according to established standards.
• Pack out finished cases with correct amount of product.
