Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Springfield, Ohio, is hiring for a 1st Shift Freight Handler - Part Time. The role supports our distribution center operations by unloading pallets from trailers and preparing product for pallet configurations.

Training is provided, and no prior warehouse experience is required. The position runs Friday and Saturday 6 am–2 pm, and Sunday 5 am–1 pm, with starting pay at $18.60 per hour plus performance incentives.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Can pass a drug test and background check.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely remove pallets of product from trailers.
• Break down product for correct pallet configuration.
• Separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets.
• Ensure damaged product is accounted for and not received into inventory.
• Maintain the structural integrity of pallets.
• No experience required – training provided.

Responsibilities

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers, and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. As a freight handler, you'll support our team by safely removing pallets of product from the trailer, breaking down the product for the correct pallet configuration, separating inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, ensuring that damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into the warehouse sale inventory, and maintaining the structural integrity of pallets. No experience required – we’ll train you how to get the job done.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Can work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25°F to 100°F).
• Must read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred but not required.
