Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Wyoming, MI is hiring for a 1st Shift Freight Handler to support warehouse operations and order processing. You will safely remove pallets from trailers and break down products for correct pallet configuration.

No prior experience is required; training is provided. You’ll work 6am start, Monday–Friday with weekends off, and earn starting at $18.60/hour with potential raises and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed - holidays are very important to our customers.
• We have frozen products - your ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F) is required while you’re here.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely remove pallets of product from the trailer and break down the product for the correct pallet configuration.
• Separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets and ensure damaged product is accounted for.
• Maintain the structural integrity of pallets during handling and storage.
• Assist in accurate pallet building for order processing and delivery.

1st Shift Freight Handler

Distribution Center Address: 333 50th St. SW, Wyoming, MI 49548.

Pay: Starting at $18.60/hour

• Plus, earn two pay raises in your first year

• Earn more per hour for speed and efficiency

Work Schedule:

• Monday - Friday work week, with Saturday and Sundays off

• 1st Shift - 6am to finish (Schedule subject to change based on needs, shifts vary based on work volume)

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers, and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. As afreight handler, you’ll support our team bysafely removing pallets of product from the trailer and breaking down the product for the correct pallet configuration.You will alsoseparate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, ensure that damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into the warehouse for sale inventory, and account for the structural integrity of pallets.There’s no experience required - we’ll train you how to get the job done!
