Job summary

Arcosa is hiring Fitter/Welders in our Houston, TX plant for the 1st shift. You’ll apply welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair metal parts according to layouts, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, auto welding, and semi-automatic equipment.

You’ll perform 1F–4F fillet welds (FCAW), inspect welds for quality, and follow safety rules. Minimum 1 year FCAW experience; ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year FCAW experience.
• Must pass vertical and overhead fillet weld tests using FCAW-G.
• Ability to understand weld size requirements.
• Ability to understand weld quality acceptance criteria.
• Must wear PPE including respirator.
• Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Proficiently perform 1F, 2F, 3F and 4F fillet welds.
• Inspect welds to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• May participate in safety committees or initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
