Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Salisbury, NC is seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler to support warehouse operations. You will load, unload, and move product and materials by hand, carts, pallets, and pallet jacks, while following safety guidelines and best practices.

No prior experience is required and training will be provided. Responsibilities include accurate inventory counting, labeling, picking daily orders, and documenting inbound/outbound loads with a camera.

Qualifications

• Entry level, no experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Must have knowledge of custom store fixture industry and receiving.
• Ability to clearly identify product from package labels.

Responsibilities

• Accurately count and record quantities so proper inventory transactions can be made.
• Identify materials moved and match them to associated documentation.
• Ensure proper labeling, and that product numbers are up to date.
• Ensure bulk packed materials are boxed, taped, wrapped, packed, banded, shrink wrapped or secured for safe transport.
• Locate, identify, label and pick required materials as identified on printed pick lists.
• Perform picking and pulling of daily orders without using a forklift.
• Document inbound and outbound load conditions and quality issues with a camera.
• Read and follow written pick lists and other work orders.
• Use basic hand tools for opening or closing crates and performing basic assembly tasks.
