Job summary

Eaton’s GEIS division is seeking a 1st Shift Distribution Center Supervisor for our Roanoke, VA facility. The role is onsite with hours 6AM–3:30PM and no relocation offered.

Lead floor operations, drive safety, accuracy and productivity, and work with hourly associates, support staff and external partners to meet daily shipping and receiving goals. You will interview and onboard new team members, manage time and attendance, coach performance and be an active member of the site leadership team,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree approved for the role and leadership experience.
• Experience leading distribution center teams and daily operations.
• SAP and WMS knowledge preferred; Lean/Six Sigma helpful.
• Ability to coach, interview, onboard, and manage attendance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily distribution center floor operations to ensure safety, accuracy and productivity.
• Provide support to team members and guide inquiries to proper sources.
• Interview and onboard new team members and ensure proper training.
• Manage time and attendance; offer coaching on performance and policy.

This role is onsite at our Roanoke, VA facility which is an Assembly Operation and Distribution Center. 1st shift hours are 6AM - 3:30PM. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:As a Distribution Center Supervisor you will work with a wide range of people in varying roles across the organization, including hourly team members, support personnel within and outside the facility, and outside suppliers which support our drive to meet daily shipment and receiving goals. This position will be exciting and rewarding for a self-starter who enjoys navigating through the challenges and rewards of leading people and improving processes.In this role you will:Supervise the daily activities of the distribution center floor operations, motivating your team to ensure that operations are safe, accurate and productive.Provide support to your team by ensuring timely answers to questions or by steering them to the appropriate information sources, and by providing a workplace where team members can grow and develop.Help interview and select new members for your team and assure that new or transferred team members are adequately trained to meet the requirements of their roles.Manage time and attendance for your team.Offer counseling and coaching regarding things such as performance and company policy.Be an active member of the site’s leadership team and help to support site initiatives and operational changes.Engage your team to identify opportunities to improve processes and will be a champion for change.Track and or create performance indicators to improve operations and the ability to service the customer.Qualifications:Basic (Required) Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.Minimum of three years of leadership experience.Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
