Job summary

Total Maintenance Management is seeking a 1st Shift Custodian in Orland Park, IL. The role entails performing cleaning and maintenance duties across commercial spaces to keep premises in clean and orderly condition.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, window washing, trash disposal, and restroom cleaning. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work 1st shift; benefits and a 401K plan are offered.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: No prior experience or training.
• Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence in English.
• Math Ability: Basic arithmetic using dollars and units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Keeps premises clean and orderly in various settings (commercial, retail, etc.).
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other areas.
• Cleans floors, rugs, and surfaces; dusts furniture; polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, windows, and doors; empties trash and disposes properly.

Summary: Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, finishes, and polishes floor.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
