Job summary

SMS Clean is seeking a dependable janitorial associate to keep commercial and public spaces clean and orderly. You will clean lighting fixtures, floors, restrooms, and service areas, following safety guidelines to ensure a welcoming environment.

This 1st shift role offers competitive benefits and recognizes that no prior experience is required. English communication is essential, and the position is on-site in a dynamic facility setting.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: No prior experience or training.
• Language Ability: Proficiency in English for reading, writing and communication.
• Math Ability: Basic arithmetic for handling money and measurements.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow simple instructions and work with standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, finishes, and polishes floor.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

Summary: Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Requirements

Math Ability:Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
