Job summary
Navigate Search is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / Controls Specialist to support the reliability, performance, and efficiency of our manufacturing operations in New Jersey. The role covers electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, PLC programming support, and collaboration with Operations and Process Engineering to improve equipment performance.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, and proficiency with Siemens
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
- Strong experience with Siemens Step7 / TIA Portal and Allen Bradley RS5000 software highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with SAP and CMMS preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced setting.
- Must be able to work 1st shift 6AM–3PM.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of plant machinery and building systems to maximize uptime.
- Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and support systems.
- Upload, download, configure, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and process instrumentation.
- Support automation systems using Siemens Step7 / TIA Portal and Allen Bradley RSLogix/RS5000.
- Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals to resolve issues.
- Assist with assembly, wiring, and installation of machinery control panels.
- Diagnose malfunctions using precision testing tools.
- Maintain motors, conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and daily maintenance rounds including safety systems.
- Collaborate with Operations and Process Engineering to improve performance and efficiency.
- Use CMMS to create and close work orders accurately and safely.
